IG Features to Use
-
A few cool things to use IG for larger battles. When in doubt, ask a veteran DM as always.

Setting NPC Factions
Setting a faction, I generally tend to quickslot a few factions for easy changes.
Label the quickslot appropriately, commoner, hostile, animal and add in the command next. These are the 3 I keep quickslotted, the animal one is good for making spawns non-hostile but when pc's attack, they won't suddenly screw up faction unlike the commoner faction.

Using Catapults under Placeable Object -> Custom -> Military -> Siege Catapult
Catapult Scripts
I tend to quickslot the commands for boulder and fire to use them quickly.
In the custom placeable category in the creator, you will see a new placeable called siege catapult. Spawn one, then click on it to select it.. You can click on it from anywhere in visible range. When you run the command scripts, the catapult will fire at your current avatar position (YOU are the target).
There are two current commands for the catapult. These commands are scripts that you run through the command console. They are:
'runscript catapult_boulder'
The catapult will fire a boulder in an arc, and where it strikes, all those nearby (3.3 meters) take 6d6 blunt damage, savs vs reflex for half. The shot can be dodged, unlike spells.
'runscript catapult_fire'
The catapult will lob a fireball like shot, that explodes for 2d6 fire damage to all those within 6.6 meters of the impact. It then leaves a wall of fire for 5 rounds, that does 4d6 fire damage.
The catapults run best at shots within 60 meters. After that, the arc is so high, players will not see it coming. For long shots be careful where you aim the catapult.
I ask that this system not be used until Nilla's event. It supposed to be a big surprise.

Battle Scripts
I've upgraded the battle scripts to have additional functions. The script dm_battlezone no loner exists.
The below commands are scripts that you can run via the command console.battle_toggle
##dm_runscript battle_toggle
This script replaces the dm_battlezone. The reason for the name change was semantic only. The whole system is simple called the BATTLE system now. Using it once will set the battle status to true, and prevent creatures from leaving corpses or loot. Helps lag.Using it again will set it back to normal.
battle_xp_raise
Will up the battle XP override of monsters in an area by 1 points. Can be used to negate the no XP setting.battle_xp_lower
Will lower the battle XP override of monsters in an area by 1 point. If used while the value is at 0 (default), then it will disable XP rewards for monsters killed in the area.Battle XP
The battle XP override is a real simple XP system. It only operates if a battle is declared. When the battle is declared over, XP returns to normal.
When at 0 (default) XP is given as normal.
If lowered to -1 (it can't be dropped lower than this), all creatures defeated in combat reward no XP.
If 1 or greater, every player in the area will recieve that XP amount (3e) for any monster killed in the area.
Rewards the xp in lumps ever 5 deaths (to keep down lag and spam on the channel).Since players wont need to be in a party to get XP, it should reduce the incentives for doing so, which helps lag alot. It also allows support players gain XP as well.
I didn't go with a CR system since it will be easy for you guys to adjust XP as needed. If you would like a CR system with this, let me know, and I can adjust the scripts.
Soon, we will have the Area Buff/Healing spells also set to react differently in a battle: they will affect all non-hostiles. This will alow clerics and bards to use spells like bless and and bardic music without needing to be in a party. PnP wise, this is how they are supposed to work anyway..
Its another test to see if it provokes better game play. If it dosn't work, it can be removed quickly.

Battle Scripts 2
There has been some changes in this system, to make it more manageable.
XP rewards have changed in design. Instead of setting how much XP a kill is worth, and having it collected until the 5th kill.. you now will set how much XP the players get every Nth kill.
Also, toggling the battle script off and on will reset all the setting to default.
New scripts
battle_xp_rate
Will toggle the rate or amount of kills the players need to achieve before they get their xp reward. It can be set to either 1, 5 (default), or 10. The higher the number, the less the reward.battle_info
This will give the Dm running the script the current XP setting of the battle, and the total XP rewarded in this battle so far.@38634f12e5:
