    Calligraphy of the Sky

Tentative Time - Subject to change:

Saturday October 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time

    Background:

The Golden Geese are currently spending one to two days in Moonreach Keep, as part of their diplomatic mission. They accompanied Peltarch's army, which marched unto the Province of Moonreach and apply pressure for the diplomatic negotiations. Following a peaceful resolution to the march and a dinner with Caleb Fisher, the Golden Geese and Lokelani sent word for Juniper to arrive from Silverymoon, to discuss a potential neutral ground for further discussion between the two entities (just in case it is necessary), which means Juniper has also arrived from Silverymoon to join the Geese. In short, the Cleimant Council and the Golden Geese are effectively coordinating Caleb's visit to Peltarch (or Silverymoon) to meet and discuss matters with his blood brother Thalaman.

The Golden Geese are due to return to Peltarch on the following day.

Yet during their stay, and as of the moment of this post, they see the sight of a meteor soaring through the sky and falling to Faerun, landing with a distant eruption somewhere far north of the Keep. Thankfully, it is far away from its immediate vicinity to be safe from any physical repercussions.

Shortly after, the Golden Geese receive a message from Horgrim Blackweave on the one hand (for those not in the military as well as in the military, to Jorino's chagrin), and Fifth Star Cerulean Knight Pliskin (through official military channels), of a magical disturbance taking place near the landing area. Horgrim requests that Geese investigate the disturbance and bring back any material they might find. Pliskin asks if there are any interesting herbs in Moonreach, before remembering the meteor and saying they can "investigate it, I guess, if you want to, but about those herbs though..."

    Consideration:

This is the initiating action an upcoming long-form plot, which will involve a "West Marches" style approach to various ongoing narrative threads.

    What is "West Marches" Style?

A style that prioritizes player agency, allowing them to choose their next objectives, priorities, and actions rather than present them with NPC guidance. It also allows for a rotating cast of PCs.

NPC actions will be taken via an action-economy (on and off screen), at the same pace as the players, depending on what the players do and choose.

    Scheduling, Planning & Actions:

The time is listed above, and is set for tomorrow. It is during the usual play time. If you cannot make it, please post below. That said, do not worry so much if you cannot make this first event. The plot will be ongoing.
