    Dazzle of the Red Kermis

[OOC: We are quite behind on documenting plots and events, between this one and the two others we have begun since the conclusion of the doppelganger incursion. That is not such a big deal, considering we are a smaller group at 7-10 players, and information travels easier. That said, it is nice to have a hub for plot development and RP. Please treat this thread as intended both for DM updates as well as your RP interactions among each-other.]

The Red Kermis is a inter-dimensional organization dedicated to bringing the best and most modern forms of entertainment across the planes, to a discerning clientele. Isolde Garibaldi, Raazi, and Vernadetta had previously incurred a debt, owed to one of the Red Kermis executives, called "M.B.H." It appears, at least, that this executive has decided to collect that debt, and has coerced the Golden Geese into working under contract for the Red Kermis.

Now, each of the Golden Geese members are expected to allow the Red Kermis' handlers and scrying orbs to accompany them, and to assist in magically recording their endeavors and live-scrying the captured footage to the Red Kermis' planar audience.

But for what purpose or profit does the Red Kermis even capture such recordings? Is it simply to vie against its competitors, such as the likes of the Dowcher Games, or the mysterious organization behind the Wheel of Chicanery? What gain does the Red Kermis benefit from having such a large audience? And what bone does M.B.H. truly have to pick with the Golden Geese, let alone the reason for his obsession with cultivating a greater audience?

    The Handler

Her name is Bex. She is a handler, working for the Faerunian wing of the Red Kermis' production team. Indeed, she is your handler -- the Golden Geese's handler -- intent on bringing you the best sponsorships, budgets, and production value.

Unlike other handlers, it seems that Bex is quite content letting the Golden Geese take charge of which adventures to pursue, which antagonists to chase, and what matters to deal with on a day to day basis. To the point, even, that she might even lack a certain confidence in proposing her own ideas. This has led to a common understanding with the Golden Geese, who appear to enjoy working with her.

Unfortunately, she isn't a very popular handler and doesn't wield much influence in the Red Kermis organization. Due to a prior mistake with the adventurers she used to work with, she is on probation, with M.B.H. keeping a very close eye for any possible new mistakes she might make. He is looking for any excuse, it seems, to be rid of her ...

  • The latest news on the Red Kermis front, amicably forwarded by Isolde, is that the weaselly little frog-man did in fact make good on contacting Lain Laurent Dupont, who dropped by the Mermaid recently. While the rest of the fractal twins are gallivanting around planes unknown, Lain Laurent revealed that a member of Vortex, the wizard of the group, once tried to recruit him to their ranks. On Isolde's request, he'll set up a meeting with this wizard in the near future.

  • Isolde, after two somewhat illicit bouts of sleuthing behind the scenes of the Red Kermis, has formulated a cunning plan to rid herself of the geas which ties her to M.B.H:s contract. While it may not be the preferred plan of the entire group, Isolde remains doggedly set on finding and restoring to the Red Kermis' screens the adventuring group known as Vortex. To that end, she's looking to find Bex, but thus far without result.

The latest sneaksome trip also yielded the Geese an invitation to 'Queenie's' gala (one plus one). The emblem on the envelope suggests that Queenie is one and the same as P.F., a glamorous female figure with a picture frame head, a star-studded void within the frame. This is presumably another of the Red Kermis executives, while the third, known as C.H. or Charlie, has grey, ever shifting cubes for a head, onto which text is displayed in printing press speed.
