The Nocturnal Weald's Hidden Moon
[OOC: We are quite behind on documenting plots and events, between this one and the two others we have begun since the conclusion of the doppelganger incursion. That is not such a big deal, considering we are a smaller group at 7-10 players, and information travels easier. That said, it is nice to have a hub for plot development and RP. Please treat this thread as intended both for DM updates as well as your RP interactions among each-other.]
Marigold Vale is no stranger to the mysterious and peculiar, but that is no comfort to the sleepy residents of the Nocturnal Weald. Time seems to slow and stop in the Weald, a secret place in the Vale -- where it is forever night, and where the mist keeps it out of sight from strangers and visitors. Mushroom caps, treants, and other strange and fey-like creatures were cradled and guided by their mothering witch and the light of her hidden moon.
All was well, 'till the witch and her hidden moon vanished from even the denizens of the Nocturnal Weald. Now, the Weald is revealed, and the Golden Geese have found it. Why did the witch leave? Where has her moon gone? And what will happen to those night fey of the Weald, without their guiding moonlight?
Year of the Foggy Night
In season, Peltarch has always faced the frothy soup of fog. Yet it seems the fogs of this year have been thicker and longer lasting than ever. The Crown has hired lamplighters to erect and keep lit lampposts at key points of interest to guide citizens of the city, otherwise prone to becoming lost in the fog. The commons, the inns, city hall, and prominent street corners are all brightly lit by shining beacons in the mist, and it's all denizens of the Jewel can do to avoid wandering in the wrong direction.
In the darker nights, it's difficult even to see a few feet past the thick walls of fog. To the point that the the dark and lamplight seem to play games with the shapes, silhouettes, and figures in the fog ...
