Finally he steps out into the square and speaks loudly over the gathering in a slow, dull monotone. "The gates…will be bolstered...conscripts...hired...and the militia...will have ...a strong...captain...again." he gaze turns slowly to the north "the northmen...have one week...to explain...or they will...see what...it feels like...to have their...towns...painted in...the blood...of families...and loved ones." [his calm gaze turns to the gossiping rabble-rousers] "Outsiders…have brought...calamity...to Norwick...in the past...and if...it is...discovered...that this..." [he waves a hand over the bloody slaughter and burning homes] "…is the result...of fugitives...attacking ...or robbing...the eastlanders...and using our ...walls...and our lives...as shields...they will...feel the...Hunter's...wrath." He orders the remaining militia to seek out volunteers to build defenses then, with a glance of concern at Jandor's boarded up and well-guarded home, offers charters to adventurer conscripts willing to fight in the town's defense.
