Cerulean Jonni Aelthasson Report Log

  • It seems the Commander is off with her husband. While she is away, I will be taking command at the urging of General Gom. If there are any issues with that, feel free to speak up.

In the meantime, we have work to do.

    • 2: Fourth Star Jania. Can you please go speak with Isolde. She has a request of the Ceruleans. A 'Sending' to be done. She will provide you with more information.
    • 3: Second Star Julissa, you are well versed in local history. Please find as much information as you can on the families Brokenblade, Gor and Stockley.
    • 4: Third Star Jora, take lead and have Second Star Jori help you. Please do some scrying on the orc lands. Be careful to not let their shamans detect you. Just want to know what's going on out there. If you require the use of the my scrying area at the Witch and Seer, Fiver Jacob will provide you with access.
    • 5: Issued to Fivers personally - Orders Classified

    Personal Notes

    • Gloom and Joy are Far Scouts working for Deva?
    • Moonreach, a town to the NE of Peltarch.
    • Aoth has notes in regards to this situation. Must request access, unless they are already under this pile of paper.
    • Three families from High Hold - Brokenblades, Gor's and Stockley's - have taken a young man by the name of Caleb Fisher to the Keep of Moonreach, and are beginning to petition Peltarchian families to support this young mans claim to the throne of Peltarch. To remove Thalaman. Caleb being the bastard of the late King George, it is said.
    • Gor family is the original family from High Hold. It's original Lords and the Lord of High Hold was conferred with a Captaincy in the Defenders as a hereditary honour.
    • Original instigator appears to be Bennek Sepret, Aoth's cousin. Who is attempting to have her marriage to Elizabeth annulled.

  • Upon further research into the matter, I found the runes are in fact NOT Svirfneblin at all. This language is actually Gnomish. It has been manually altered so that magical means of identifying it fail. The creator gnome, if he is indeed gnomish, likely wanted this language and these notes only understandable by him.

The runes will allow us to find out what type of specialized damage is required to harm these constructs. We MUST pay close attention to the runes of these creations. It will allow us to know how to combat them better.

The gnoll had the rune for 'Divine' on it.

    0_1650050637620_Gnoll Rune.png

Previously reported by George, the rune for 'fire' during a fight with the golem orcs.

    0_1650052305301_Orc Rune Fire.png

The most recent in the ettins cave. The rune for weapons that deliver 'bludgeoning' damage.

  • Golem Gnolls

After receiving a message from an errand girl who said there was gnoll activity by the Witch and Seer, we headed that way. We encountered very little resistance along the road, though a small war band of tougher than normal gnolls set up an ambush for us outside the entrance to their woods.

After a fight through their territory, we entered their cave and faced off against several overly strong gnolls. Beyond what I have ever seen. Even their headsmen do not fight like these. Each of them had runes in their flesh which deactivated when they were killed. Some were so overfed, as to be twice the size of us and extremely strong.

*Apparently this was not the only incident with these runes and golem parts connected to creatures. Some spoke of orc who has the same thing happening to them. The last gnoll we faced looked almost half golem with all the additions it had on it. We also found a note with various runes and writing similar to the ones found on the gnolls themselves. Isolde believes they might be gnomish, or more specifically, they might be Svirfneblin in origin. Anyone with expertise at languages, or anyone who writes Svirfneblin could maybe confirm this? *

A note is added to the file for all to see.

    0_1649193613915_Golem Note.png

Report anymore sightings of these half-golem creatures. Perhaps some Crumble scrolls? The druid circle may be willing to help in that regard.

    Jonni

  • Due to an increase in adventurers and some of these adventuring sorts taking matters into their own hands in regards to enforcing their own personal brand of justice in the city. Jonni asks that five Ceruleans be temporarily stationed in the Commerce District, with the agreement of Guard Captain Halbrook - they are to support the Guard on increased patrols through the district.

  • Apologies for the confusion. The firebombing happened at the warehouse but the melee itself took place out in front of the Regal Maid. My report has been corrected. The warehouse is adjacent to the Regal Maid.

  • Scott inquires on a detail of the report
I have heard that the firebombing was at the Regal Maid, I have also been told it was actually at a seafarer warehouse.
    Which is it?

  • Lycka adds the following note:

"Where the polymorphed culprit is concerned, we could well have argued our right to the case - however, I have often found it best to avoid too much head-butting with the guards as a confrontational attitude makes for difficult collaborations in the long run of things - in other words, pick your battles and be prepared to let some things go. You might still question the prisoner, in the case of the polymorph magic. Those potions are hardly your avarage Union man's bread and butter and must've come from somewhere. If you can trace it to a larger shipment then we'll know that more of the same is to be expected. For now, I'm posting a few of ours to the docks to minimize the risk of arcane meddling.

    -Lycka"

  • Filed with the Ceruleans

Elections have started in full swing it seems and this incident happened in the Docks. Things are beginning to heat up.

A small peaceful protest of Roslyn's supporters were having a gathering outside the Seafarer Warehouse near the Regal Maid as we walked up, being watched over by three armed Seafarer guards. One protester in the end tossed a firebomb which hit the building and the Seafarers - they responded by attacking the protesters who did nothing, while the firebombing protester ran. Roslyn and Nica managed to capture the firebomber while the rest of us tried to keep the innocent protesters safe from the Seafarer guards who were attempting to arrest them and haul them off to the Gaol after they beat them down.

The Firebomber himself was not one of the small folk, but instead was a polymorphed human, one of Jan's Union folks in fact. I dispelled the polymorph and told the Union man and the Seafarer guards they were all under arrest - each charged with assault. This is about the time that the Guard was summoned, conveniently Captain Fortescue and his Guards arrived in the company of Jessica Whyte and more Seafarers Guards. My authority was questioned due to the minimal magic used in the incident. Apparently we have a degree of magical use that is required before Ceruleans get involved, or so the Captain thinks. The Captain had the Union man arrested and let the Seafarers go with a warning after they assaulted innocent civilians. The civilians themselves were warned also.

With a mixture of some sneers and some smiles, we tended to the rest of the injured small folk while the pack of Seafarer minions made their way off to plot their next show.

A note is given directly to Commander Lycka with a request for plain clothed Ceruleans to be sent into the Docks, to keep watch for more of the same at future protests.

    Fifth Star, Jonni Aelthasson

  • Jonni reports that the Ceruleans now have their own ship, the Hippogriff. A sleek sloop that is currently docked in top of four fishing boats at the docks and awaiting repairs. A recommendation is made that all Ceruleans get some actual training on the basic operations of working a vessel such as this with the help of the Defender Marines, if it could be arranged.

    Eastlanders War Machine

I have heard this was the second appearance of this ancient machine of war. Willow and I were returning from Jiyyd when we encountered a war machine guarding the bridge in the Pass. Flying across to the other side of the bridge we found another group of people, Cerulean Wingates among them. The machine itself did not seem overly hostile even if it was asking for a Toll to cross the bridge. It is acting on age old orders and can be confused somewhat though it seems to reassert its orders and continue on its course. It will defend itself when attacked and in this case we managed to get one of the 'levers' from within, which only temporarily shut it down. It was a 'Decoy' lever it seems. The machine reanimates itself even when you think you have taken it down or beat on it enough to cause it to cease functioning.

The machine captured Willow and took her down to Norwick as she was carrying Norwick citizen papers on her and it attempted a prisoner exchange with Tarien Nowick as it stared at the rubble of the old town hall in the Norwick ruins, south of the current town itself. It was hoping to secure the release of Captain Barron in the prisoner exchange. I believe these are names well beyond my time of being alive. Willow was released and the machine designated its new primary enemy to be Peltarch and I surrendered, getting put in the cage until the group that had gathered took down the machine and released me. The machine itself reactivated again and at this point I was forced to leave the area so I am unsure how it all turned out.

I do have a feeling this machine will be back and we should find a more permanent way to either destroy or attempt to find the source of its power and eliminate that permanently.

The following I do know, as I attempted to scry the lever I removed from the machine in an attempt to find it's 'master': Far to the east I could see the ruins. Deep below, not only buried with earth but with the passage of time, lies a skeleton. The Vision ending. Nate and I both figured it was of Raumathar make, but being used throughout the years by various sources like the Eastlanders.

I would think that whoever created it or had a personal tie to this lever I took from it is dead. Buried beneath the earth and ages. I would be very interested in searching for this ancient ruin and getting a possible glimpse into old Raumathar.

Lieutenant Alfrick Visum - Orb of Divination

'Those present were Jasmine, Thyr'qara, Isolde, Reyhenna, Thorin, Gnarl, Shesarai, Rasuil, Morgan, Garen, Roslyn and myself.

We were summoned to City Hall to meet with the Herald in regards to a project one Cerulean was working on. A Lieutenant Alfrick Visum was proposing an orb that would allow us to read the thoughts of the population. Many were is strong disagreement with the proposal and the Commander herself told him no. He brought it above her head and we discussed the issue with Herald Fisher, in the end he declined to bring it to the Kings Council at this time and summoned Alfrick Visum to the chambers to tell him he would no longer proceed with the project.

He is a diviner of some capability and he did not seem surprised by the outcome. He left quickly and after we were done talking we went to find him. My intentions were to see if he wanted to go out for a drink with the group of us. He seemed a quiet man, kept to himself, never ruffled any feathers and did not seem to have many friends, if any. I thought a night out with the group of us might do him good. We got his address at the Bottleneck apartments and headed there, I went in alone so the massive group of us would not scare him and found his apartment, 401 for future reference.

The door was ajar, so I entered and called out his name, a noise in the other room brought me there and I went inside and found a parchment on the floor which read "Jonni. I am sorry. It is the only way." Just as I read the note the door slammed shut and four pumps in each corner of the room began to suck the air out, immediately I went to my knees unable to breath and then a gas began pumping into the room, the coughing, the wheezing, the burning in my lungs and the paralysis made it so I could not move. Shesarai healed me and someone flipped over the letter he left and on the other side it said "When Shesarai heals you, tell her and the rest I'm sorry too" Luckily the group showed up and opened the door but not before I frantically watched the pump reload explosive fluid canisters as the second contingency took off and a magical spark appear to ignite it, Jasmin immediately launching herself onto me with Inquisitor Morgan and her taking the majority of the blast as they protected me. The explosion took out his apartment, most of that section of the Bottleneck apartments and all the people were evacuated as we left, Engineers being called in to secure the building and assess the damages before people returned home.

We had no time to break, but we had to refresh ourselves before we went after him again and we managed to get ourselves together and head to an abandoned warehouse in the docks. The address we got from another hidden note behind a picture that Rasuil found after the explosion. The divination magics heavily lingering over the city still, his 'orb' already created and being used as he watched us. An artist on the street being hired because Visum knew he would spill magical ink on Roslyn by the looks of it, possibly to blind her though she managed to avoid the ink trap.

In the warehouse Shesarai cast a detect magic. A third contingency triggered, we should have know better as the explosions rocked the warehouse itself, the floor disappearing below us and we all tumbled into a facility Alfrick had created. There he appeared as an image, saying that he expected us all to be dead, except Rasuil who he thoughts could avoid the fire enough. He said his next one would be true.

The room we were in started to again fill with the same gas that paralyzed me the apartment I believe, a form of centipede venom Rasuil said. Most of were up and down, paralyzed, coughing, wheezing, trying to fight off the effects of the gas and finally Roslyn managed to turn into a giant and collapsed the ceiling on us all. Shesarai and Gnarl managing to clear the rock away and the gas drifted off.

We traveled the Upperdark a bit, fighting off some fiendish goblins and pushing towards Visum we hoped. Pools of Faezress infused water were stumbled upon and we covered ourselves in the faezress, it is known to deflect divination magics and teleportation magics. We gathered a bunch in bottles and then found ourselves out in the Pass, emerging from a cave entrance and heading to the city again to find Visum. Yet when we arrived we met some Defender Marines in front of City Hall who were apparently looking for Captain Sally Williams and Herald Fisher, who missed their meetings.

Through the use of magics, somehow I caught glimpse of Halbrook fighting someone in the Gaol and when we ran there he was almost dead on the floor, having been attacked by Visum who had teleported away.

The end of this was finding the Herald to the north of Peltarch, heavily wounded. Captain Sally Williams was killed defending him by the looks of it. The rest of the superior officers and Councillors were gathered into City Hall near the table in the throne room as it is said to block scrying. An attempt was made to teleport the Commander away while she had lunch with a colleague at the Inn, likely for not approving the project. The attempt was thwarted luckily. Alfrick Visum is still out there.

    • Find Faezress to mix and make the Underdark Glorp to cover ourselves.

    • Look through Lieutenant Alfrick Visums old reports for any clue on his whereabouts.

    • I will be attempting to scry Visum myself. I do not expect success but we must try.

    • I would like Inquisitor Morgan to make up a list of charges against Lieutenant Visum for the official report.

All the members of our group did great work. I owe a personal thank you to Guardswoman Jasmine and Inquisitor Morgan for reacting so quickly in trying to keep me safe while I was under the effect of the poison.

    Shushath the Eternal - Necro-leg.

'Those present were Jasmine, Isolde, Reyhenna, Thorin, Garen, Roslyn, Thyr'qara and myself.

Due to my leg problem of late, my friends have been searching for a brace of sorts for me and three inventors were asked to make such a brace. The first inventor however brought out a preserved leg. I believe the intention was to sever my own leg and reattach this new grey leg. This leg apparently belonged to Shushath the Eternal. a necromancer who was defeated and his body dismembered by someone. The leg itself was preserved and Olil thought it might make a good replacement. Needless to say I declined the offer of the necromancers leg and she went off to renew her strength spell, leaving the leg in a chest near us in the commons.

This is where the leg decided to jump up and start running around and although we managed to get it back into the chest, it was not to remain there. Olil hauling the chest off and the leg escaping again. At least this happened -after- Sprocket provided me with a brace, a normal brace for my leg. Not a necromancers leg or a rocket leg that would fly me off to Selune. Just a good old, gears, cogs, steel leg brace. It works quite well.

The runaway leg though! Took us on a trip out into the Pass, through the wilds and eventually we came upon a graveyard where we fought a monstrous skeleton and yet again, we defeated the leg. Only for Reyhenna to smash the leg to mush and it then turn into some sort of undead goo which slithered down into a chasm.

We gave chase, I lost track of how long we tracked this undead goo through the tunnels, though we came upon a creature. I have never met one of them before, some lizard type creature. It wanted shiny things in return for telling us where the leg went so it was given assorted gems and it led us off in one direction. Then we came across some of its not so kind lizardlike brothers and a fight began, a fight that was horrible and had Reyhenna herself down on the cavern floor. We managed to finish the fight there but thought it best to leave the caverns. We found a way up to the surface, sand and sun above us as we climbed out and we found ourselves in the lands east of Narfell.

We enjoyed the hotspring for a time and found some buried treasure, finally walking back to Narfell and taking a much deserved rest that did not last long.'

A Letter to Siamorphe - Daggerford.

'Those present were Tyrus, Nathelin, Guardsman Simon Axegrinder, Thorin, Inquisitor Morgan and myself.

Herald Fisher approached us to deliver a letter to Daggerford, to be put into the hands of the High Priest of Siamorphe in the Duke's Court. We arranged a teleportation trip but we could only get as close as Triboar, which was 300 miles from Daggerford, but closer than trying to ride all the way to the Sword Coast.

We were introduced to a Priestess of Chauntea who could arrange for us to reach Daggerford quickly. The method of transport was through the trees and to the Harvest House in Daggerford, the Temple of Chauntea there. Both Priestess Maria and Priestess Merovyna in the Harvest House were helpful though we were told the High Priest of Siamorphe had gone missing while traveling to tend to a baptism to the north. The Cassallanterns finally having a son.

As we traveled through Daggerford in the night, looking for the route north to go search for the priest we were set upon by a large band of wererats, scurrying out of the darkness and although they were easily dispatched, lycanthropes present their own difficulties. Asking my crystal ball where the priest was, the answer I got was of course cryptic, as are most answers when searching through divination.

'The arch-devils tendrils seek corruption and the corruption and its antithesis are under and out'

So, the information we immediately went for was 'The corruption and its antithesis is out and under' We thought meant the Priest could be below, where the wererats likely came from and outside the city limits somehow through the sewers or tunnels below. That is when a friend came up to us, looking up at me he spoke. 'Come join us' 'Follow me.' 'Careful, slime ahead.' The little rat squeaking up at me the whole time and I could understand it. This being something new to me.

Fighting slimes in knee deep sewage water in the tunnels below, diving under it to the next set of tunnels our little rat friend kept hurrying us along. That is when we found them. The rat swimming up to the bunch of men and women, squeaking away to them. 'I brought them Master!' The little rat bastard tricked us!

That is when I found out why I could understand him. My mind went wild, I could think clearly about nothing. Hair sprouting all over my body and I began changing. A taste of what my father goes through as I turned into a wererat and my party had to knock me out. I woke choking on sewage water, which is utterly disgusting. My group had dealt with the cultists and we found the High Priest of Siamorphe in a rune circle, a ritual trying to steal his soul being interrupted by us and between Morgan and myself, we sent enough positive energy into the ritual circle to negate and reverse any ill effects on the priest while our group defended us from attacks by the newly animated undead from the negative energy radiating out from the ritual circle.

We returned to Daggerford with the High Priest, I roamed the countryside a time and familiarized myself with an area to use as a Recall site if ever needed before returning to town and Recalling the group back home to City Hall.

Priest saved, cultists gone, all of us had remove curse cast upon us and congratulations to Lady Aino and Lady Maurina for the coming children and marriages to secure their childrens place in the Royal family.'

Gaurithoth of the Limbo, Master Plane Traveler - Coven of Hags.

'Those present were Jasmine, Nathelin, Morgan, Tyrus and myself.

We were approached by an arcanist named Gaurithoth of the Limbo. Apparently he is some sort of demonbinder of old and he occasionally stops by to have adventurers do tasks as most present seemed to know him.

The job today was to find a coven of hags who had a 'Dream Gem' he required for circle magic from and earlier mission given to some people I believe. We were to follow the River into the Rawlins to find this coven. We fought the usual wyverns and harpies, but also half-quaggoth/half-hag looking things that were as tough as their parents.. Deeper along the Scar, down the cliffside we found a cave entrance, gathered our party and ventured forth.

The walls were covered in a brownish red substance which with the smell accompanying it, I would hazard a guess was excrement with blood mixed in. It was actually very horrible. Deeper in we went and we came upon a sight that will be seared into my mind from this day forth.

Two hags, two quaggoths, one of the hags with icy blue skin straddling the quaggoth on the ground. It was a horrid sight, yet mesmerizing at the same time, I could not look away. They bid us join, we almost lost our earlier lunch on the floor at that point and declined the offer.

Go kill our sisters the two hags asked, so we decided not to and yet they let us pass anyways. Even deeper into the cave we found what appeared to be a child, roasting over a fire. At this point, I knew what would happen. Everything in this cave would die and so we went forward, fighting our way through multiple good looking Jonni's as they appeared from some mirrors, we fought four hags and their fiendish serpents, winning the day through a tough fight. Our attention turned to the hags and quaggoths we left behind, we went back and destroyed the disgusting things.

We found the 'Dream Gem' and we returned it to Peltarch to give to Gaurithoth. A successful mission, the hags are no more, their spawns are no more. The land is safe until the next threat rears its ugly head.'

The Crimson Spikes - Murder and Mayhem.

'Those present were Morgan, Erurk, Tyrus.

After entering the commons, Inquisitor Morgan invited me along on a trip to deal with an apparent murder and possibly some sort of violence against others. It turned out a man by the name of Whitticky was murdered for his inheritance, his wife was assaulted by the men and his children kidnapped, a boy and a girl. All of this done by the Crimson Spikes and the people were screaming for blood.

We entered the Misty Caves below, the entrance covered by kegs that could be lit to collapse the cliffside down and possibly take the town above with it. Erurk managed to douse most of them and my water elemental finished the last one off so they could not be detonated and we entered the cave in search of the man who did these things. We encountered several of the Crimson Spikes mercenaries and fought our way through them to the last room in the Misty Caves.

There he stood, the leader of this group of mercenaries, crates on the boat he was ready to board and two children in front of him, each child held with a hand as he threatened them. Their lives and 20,000 gold of Whitticky's inheritance in exchange for his freedom. We agreed of course and he released the boy, the girl he took with him onto the boat and said he would toss her in the water when he was away.

The girl was tossed in, I swam to go get her and brought her back to the shore. She was not breathing but I managed to clear the water from her lungs and Erurk at that time set fire to the boat the man was on. It burnt up quickly, the other 20,000 in gold washing away into the underground stream and the man having no choice but to swim back to our shoreline. He was taken into custody, the children were returned to their family and the man was brought to City Hall for his end.

He dangled from a rope, the crowd cheering as he swung and Erurk ending it with his sword after the man choked for a time. The remaining gold we did collect, a total of 20,000 was given to the Guard to return to the family.'

    A Horse Ride - Meeting a Fey.

'Those present were Isolde, Erurk, Jasmine, Reyhenna and myself.

After being invited along on a horse ride with the others we found ourselves in some misty forested area thanks to Reyhennas wild horse taking us on a run through the land. We encountered several lights in the mists which seemed harmless at first.

Isolde played some music for the lights which moved about to the tune and we followed them further into the misty woods and found another Fey, a female figure with an instrument, playing her own music. Isolde matching her music to the Fey's, she began to dance with the lights and Isolde herself was transformed into one of the lights. After a talk with the Fey woman, she wished us to get something from the Huntsman who made his home back before we entered the mist. We were escorted out and after a time the group managed to persuade the Huntsman to give up the green amulet and he explained its function.

Returning to the Fey woman with the Huntsman following, wanting to kill the Fey for some years. The amulet was broken, the Fey woman severely weakened and Erurk and Jasmine managed to kill her quickly. The instrument was broken and some of the lights returned back to normal people and even an animal companion of the Huntsman.

We looked for Isolde yet could not find her, perhaps she had floated off as a light before we made it back.. no doubt she will be fine and if she does not return shortly, I will begin scrying for her.

'Those present were Anheim, Reyhenna, Thyr'qara, Aino and myself.

Having wandered into the commons I heard a group were heading off for a bear hunt so I went to join them. It took place in the orc lands and was a bit rough at times as we fought our way through the orcs. Several of the dumb fist fighting orcs who use no weapons were present as well as the lesser orcs.

The group managed to track the large bear to a cave entrance and in the company of several orcs, including a wereboar caster. Although I managed to stun him I believe before he could bite anyone, I cast heal, remove disease and remove curse on everyone just to make sure when we returned to the Jewel. The bear itself was a Dire Bear and quite the trophy for some.

On our return trip we encountered a man that looked much like the Dragon Cultists we have seen and it turns out he was looking for the Hermit, to have a discussion with him likely about joining the Cult. After a bit of a disagreement with him he attacked and we killed him and finally returned to the city. Keep your eyes open for more Cultists and be wary, they are tough.'

    Horse Kidnapping - The Slaadi.

'Those present were Verika, Tyrus and three other men, I caught the name Nathelin and Baras, not sure about the other but he was a druid I believe and myself of course.

The Horse Seller from the southern gate came to the commons and I walked in a bit late, but the conversation was regarding a large frog stealing three of his horses. That large frog being a Slaad, green in color to be exact. So the hunt began and we headed south to find this Slaad and the horses.

At the Crossroads, near Sam's Hole were the tracks of the Slaad and something it was dragging along and we found the creature with a dead horse by Verika's tower. The creature at first did not seem hostile and actually called Verika 'Mama' but then seemed to get irritated with me casting behind it and cast a few dispels on me. It then turned its attention to the man named Nathelin and punched him. At this point I attacked the creature, the others joining shortly after and the creature was destroyed.

The other two horses were found after. One at the Rats and Bats, Radnack the cook had found it running the Pass and brought it in for dinner. I spoke to my Aunt there and she had Radnack release the horse. The second we fished out of the river past the Legion and the Hin town to the East of the Crossroads. Both were returned to the Horse Seller at the gates.

Extra Note: There appears to be a Dryad living in the tree just north of the Rats and Bats restaurant. She was helpful in finding the horses, so try not to disturb her.'

  • Restricted Access To The Following Report

Service to the Jewel - This report is filed ONLY to the following people for now. General Del'Rosa, Commander Lycka Zomasdottir, Captain Gorien Harbottle, Lieutenant Reyhenna Jorino, Guard Jasmine.

    Jill Facility - Gorien Harbottle.

'Those present were Isolde, Reyhenna, Tyrus, Jasmine, Garen, Aoth, Roslyn and myself.

I attempted the other day to contact Captain Harbottle due to some problems we were having with Crown officials and Ceruleans. Mainly, between Reyhenna and myself. Although we solved the issues by ourselves, the constant lack of appearances by the Captain had some annoyed. No response was sent so I contacted Odelle instead and she responded and we met near the Witch and Seer.

It took some prying but she told us about the issues the Captain was facing and so we arranged to help her. After a short talk with Douglas Latch regarding his cooperation and a deal to possibly see him escape death, get out in ten years and face only exile after, we managed to get the information required to help the Captain. I will also say, Latch was truthful as far as I can tell and it was because of him that we found the remedy for the Captain.

The Herald arranged for us to meet a Fifth Star from the Jill facility and we spoke with him about us helping them save the Captain. To the facility we went and into one of the Compass worlds. A strange experience to say the least. It was an alien world with creatures everywhere, voices and large shadowy cracks trying to pull us in. Despite being told it would be empty, this world was far from empty.

The remedy for the Captain, to cure him from the Wand of Abyssal Darkflame that was used on him. The water from an Oasis and it was given to him upon our return to the facility. Slowly gaining himself, he ordered me to arrest the Fifth Star Ceruleans for insubordination. I asked Guard Jasmine to place them under arrest and take their weapons and then people started to get very grumpy.

Reyhenna suggested the Fivers remain under house arrest due to their knowledge on the facility. I had the Fivers bring in a squad of Fourth Star Ceruleans for the time being to help secure the facility. The Fivers were left there due to their knowledge on the facility and to make sure no one tampers with anything. Currently on house arrest in the facility, awaiting the Commanders orders.

I have no doubt they will await their fate. They are good men and women.'

My personal thoughts on the matter are such.

    • Captain Harbottle is right. They did disobey orders, though out of loyalty and love for their Captain. I hope this will be taken into consideration if any punishment comes.

    • The facility should be reviewed and possibly closed. I am not knowledgeable enough on the subject yet to make a decision, though with what happened to us on that world, something beyond what anyone else has experienced it seems. I do believe it deserves more investigating.

    • I promised Douglas Latch I would speak to the King for what its worth, to secure his 'deal'. I could actually care less what the final decision is, though I will keep my word and give my opinion on the matter to the King. Lieutenant Reyhenna would be best to follow up on this with though.

    • I currently have another Netherese Rune in my possession that can take us to the "Rising Cliffside" world. I also have one bottle of the water used to cure the Captain in my possession still. For future study or use.

  • Service to the Jewel - Filed with the Ceruleans.

SRPHMWIII - The Flying Egg Laboratory.

'Those present were Reyhenna, Erurk, Jasmine, Rasuil, Vick, Thyr'qara, Scott, Arien and myself.

Our day was interrupted by a sight roaring overhead then crashing down into Nars Pass near the Tempus Shrine. An egg laboratory, some type of flying thing.. its owner a strange man that went by the name of Sir Roderick Prendergast Harrington Montgomery Wilberforce III.

It seems his flying egg laboratory ran out of fuel and we helped him find more. Large crystals down in the bugbear mines near Norwick. It was a trouble filled journey as the group was somewhat chaotic in its way of proceeding. Facing down Elder Earth Elementals and smaller ones, with bugbears and hobgoblins mixed in.

In the end we managed to get the crystals from the big massive crystal that drains your energy in the tunnels there, though we lost one among us before I was able to close the portal summoning the elementals. Thyr'qara died fighting an elemental and getting drained of life at the same time by the crystal. Savras returned her to life upon our return to the city.

Not a great trip, but successful and a promise to take us to a remote destination at some point in the future from Sir Roderick.'
