The d'Cameron Proclamation
-
In the month of Flamerule, during this Year of the Blazing Star, over the course of Geroldine's Invasion, foreign Zhentarim forces assumed control over the Town of Norwick. Norwick's former herald and now chancellor Caitlin d'Cameron evacuated the city under escort from the Norwick Redcloaks, Peltarch Defenders, and Moonreach Soldiers. The surviving Norwick soldiers and refugees fled to the City of Peltarch, with King Thalaman Fisher's permission and protection.
Several battles and months later, during month of Nightal, during the same year, Peltarch and Norwick's forces, together with their allies from Moonreach and the Waelvor elves, staged a counter-attack against the Zhentarim in Norwick. The allied forces expelled Geroldine's Zhentarim from, liberated, and retook control of the Town of Norwick. The victory was in no small part -- and indeed, largely attributable and thanks to -- Peltarch's ongoing assistance to the Norwick forces.
The night of the victory, d'Cameron raised her voice in thanks to the allied forces, and voiced a clear pledge to Peltarch's King. Her words were dedicated to northern memory as the d'Cameron proclamation:
Thalaman Fisher, King of Peltarch,
In view of the north's faith put to you,
So long as you stand before me, strong, bold, and steady as you are,
Norwick will be Peltarch's friend,
and will stand with Peltarch against shared foes,
to grow and prosper together.
Not all of Norwick's leaders agree and support d'Cameron's pledge to Peltarch, nor do they approve of greater ties with Peltarch, despite the war effort and successful alliance and cooperation so far. Indeed, rumors are that Redcloak leaders, Barbarian leaders, and Dwarven leaders have each whispered quiet disdain for d'Cameron's worryingly close relationship with Norwick's larger, stronger neighbor to the north.
