Ambush Target: Dread Doppelganger / "The Unreal"

Background:
A hive of doppelgangers has began to operate in Peltarch. At the same time, "black-steel" weapons, enchanted with consumable magic capable of inflicting true death, were brought into the city, before being intercepted and stolen.
Since then, the doppelganger hive has liberated a previously captive doppelganger code-named "the Unreal". This newly liberated doppelganger is more powerful than the rest, and is capable of not only reading minds, but also altering perception and memory in real time.
You expect that "the Unreal" doppelganger is searching for the black steel. In the meantime, you have found it. Berlinne Toews, and the Autonomist rebels, are the ones who intercepted the weaponry, and hid it out of reach in their secret headquarters. You have come up with a plan: to alter your own memories, hiding the real weaponry somewhere else, while using enchantment magic to implant a fake memory in the mind of each party member: that you are carrying the weaponry to George's ship.
The intent -- and hope -- is that "the Unreal" doppelganger will read your false memories, and follow you to George's ship, where you will have a planar anchor and a trap set, to ambush your target.

Consideration:
The ambush will be a dangerous, arguably unfair encounter, with a high probability of casualties.
If the party succeeds in defeating the dread doppelganger: the ambush ends in victory, and the plot continues on a favorable path.
If the party fails, or in the event of a total party wipe: the ambush ends in defeat, resurrection costs must be paid, and the plot will continue on an alternative path.

The intent remains to proceed tomorrow at 11:00 AM EST.
Note this is not a finale, merely a potential turning point based on the party's latest plan. There will be other events to follow in the Homecoming: Kith and Kin plot-line.
For those who can't make it tomorrow - there will for certain also be more plot progress and events the weekend after at the same time.

I won't be able to make it at that time. Kids got a birthday party. I'll probably be available like... 3 to 4 hours after starting time.
