Romana Magyar
-
Daughter of the Mountain
Sword's Flame
Giantkin
Fist of Fire
Description and Personality
The genasi's skin is a ruddy shade, a cheap blush wine mixed with a murky cider. Her shoulder-length copper hair shimmers when she's in motion, shedding light at the edges like dancing flames. Romana stands over six feet tall, but if you're not looking skyward to see her large grin, you'll still hear the unmistakable booming voice that verges on shouting when she's excited.
The two-hander at her side appears to be one of very few worldly possessions for this young woman, who came to Peltarch equally light on coin as experience or prospects. But Romana isn't the type to despair, nor is she quick find fault in her situation. An unapologetic braggadocio with an ever-expanding list of sobriquets, Romana sees every tomorrow as another day to conquer. Though unmistakably proud of her mountain people, she's often impressed by the "lowlanders" of the city with whom she currently lives. As confident as she seems about her own future greatness, she's equally encouraging of her new friends and boastful of their unique talents.
Background
One can readily accept that Romana originated in the land of fire giants, iron, and lava, but where exactly she fits into the picture is anyone's guess. Despite her loudly obvious pride for Stonepeak and her lineage, Romana hasn't been especially forthcoming with the details of her family or early life. She's mentioned the Battle in the Giantspire Pass as her inspiration for venturing down to Peltarch, but her knowledge of regional affairs is quite vague.
It's plain to anyone that her swordwork relies on raw strength more than training just as her defensive stances rely more on her toughness. She only rarely abandons a fight once it's begun, and her berserker moments seem to be brought on by danger to others as much as the threat to herself.
